J. Murray Smith

Certified Public Accountant

Murray graduated with a B.S. in accounting from California State University Long Beach in 1990. He has been employed at L.G. Smith Accountancy Corporation since 1986, and has been the principal owner of the firm since 1994. His primary duties include firm management, tax preparation, accounting and consulting for businesses, real estate management and sales, insurance, and trust administration. He has been a managing partner of L.G. Smith Financial and Insurance Services since its inception in 1999.  Murray served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Peru from 1982 through 1984 and speaks fluent Spanish.

Murray and his wife Wendy have 4 children (plus 2 sons-in-law) and 9 grandchildren. When he’s out of the office, he loves to travel, spend time with his family, fish, hunt, and is a major sports enthusiast, especially when it comes to his BYU cougars.

John is an IRS-Enrolled Agent and an Investment Advisor Representative of L.G. Smith Financial Services. He graduated in 1983 with a B.A. in political science from Brigham Young University.  John completed CFP Professional Education Program. He has been employed at L.G. Smith Accountancy Corporation since 1990 and has been an owner since 1994. His principal duties are tax preparation, financial planning, business consulting, insurance and trust administration. He has also been a managing partner of L.G. Smith Financial and Insurance Services since its inception in 1999 and he holds a Series 65 securities license.  John served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile from 1978 through 1980 and speaks fluent Spanish.

John’s family has expanded quite quickly over the years; not only does he have 6 children (plus 6 spouses), but he now has 17 grandchildren! John and Kari love being able to spend time with their family. His interests and hobbies include flying, tennis, watching sports and church service.
